Skin

12 02 2009

This one’s from The Continuum. The thought is inspired from the extent to which I would want to possess someone I loved

Skin that I wished to touch

But couldn’t.

Skin I wanted to feel

But couldn’t.

Skin I wanted to kiss

But couldn’t.

Skin, I wished, I could skin

And wear everyday as my sole garment.

Starting ‘The Continuum’

The colour of my soul must be ~ PINK

I’ve just started a new kind of poem segment (hope this qualifies as an appropriate word combo or else I’ve just created something new). It’s called ‘The Continuum’. The reason why it is so AWESOME is because even without my conscious acknowledgement it’s bringing out all my thoughts and my opinions from topics like oranges to as remote as me (or the other way round). The rules are really simple, I write a verse and then the next verse starts off with the last word or the last few words of the previous verse and on most counts the two continuing verses aren’t even related. So why is it called ‘The Continuum’? Because it really is a continuation of thoughts. Recall the time when you think about something in particular and one string of thought leads to another and then another until finally you’re totally off from the point where you started? So are these verses. It’s something I’m experimenting with. How far can one stream of thought lead off into the wilderness? Here is a sample I’ve written tonight…

The others decided to beat it out of me

To drive away what can be called ‘I’

So ‘I’ played along, led them to believe

That ‘I’ was who they wanted it to be

Later, when they are exhausted

And go to their beds and sleep

‘I’ shall come back from my grave

And haunt them till eternity.

Eternity seems so far away

That I have no time to wait

Let’s just get down and pluck all these flowers I like

I want to decorate my grave

Amazingly this has managed to run off into 6 pages! With just a couple of minutes of typing! I wonder how far it can stretch if I attempted this non-stop?                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               * Now on to its 15th page!*
